Chicken Buffet

Join this year-long smorgasbord of chicken blocks themed for various chicken recipes. It is fusible appliqué but could be done by hand. Make a block and try a new recipe.

Pieced Appliqué

Penny Haren was here in November teaching her pieced appliqué methods. It looked like a perfect block of the month! So, February 1st, it will begin. There will be 2 color ways: Wild Rose by Maywood OR Amy Butler (or similar) brights. Penny Haren’s More Pieced Appliqué will be the book used which contains 25 blocks. Each month, you will pick up a block to make. You will have the choice to purchase suggested fat quarters to make a 2nd block. This way you’ll have 24 blocks by the end of a year. Also, if you desire instruction, you can choose to register for a Thursday evening class held each month where you will put your block together. Being in the Pieced Appliqué Block of the Month will entitle you to a $10 discounted class fee.

Lake Forest

Create this outdoor scene from Pine Needles. It feels like a window to nature. The quilt kit is from Hoffman’s Lake Forest Collection and will look exactly like the pattern. It uses McKenna Ryan’s fusible appliqué method. The pieces are fused and then held down by quilting. This quilt is 62” x 45”.

Lazy Angle Block of the Month

Our new Red, White and Blue Block of the Month will use the book “Lazy and Loving It”. You can cut your own template or use the Lazy Angle acrylic ruler.

Pretty in Pastels

We will be starting a new Block of the Month in January. This is an easy project that uses Thangles or an Easy Angle to construct each block. To join this project you will need to purchase the pattern for $15 and the first month’s kit for $4. You will also need either 2 packages of Thangles (2” and 3”) or an Easy Angle for this project. We will provide the 1” Thangles used in the final block. Finish instructions are included in the pattern; the fabric for the sashing, borders, and binding are not included in the cost of the program. We will give you an incentive to finish your blocks each month—the next block will be $4 if you bring back the current block finished. If you don’t finish your block, you will pay $7 for the kit. Just finish that kit and you again pay $4 for the next month’s kit. To sign up, you will need to pay for the pattern and the first kit. You may stop in to do this or you can do it by phone with a credit card.
